the antidote retreat: Menopause edit - faqs
When is The Antidote Retreat: Menopause Edit?
February 10 (Friday), 2023; 9am-4pm
Where is the retreat?
Club Evexia, 100 Shoreline Highway, Suite 100, Bldg A
Is The Antidote only for Women of Color?
While The Antidote Retreats are typically designed as affinity spaces for Women of Color, The Menopause Edit is designed as an affinity space for:
People who identify as women,
Of all ethnoracial identities,
Who are experiencing, anticipate experiencing or have already experienced menopause.
How do I get there?
There is plenty of parking onsite.
Public transportation is limited, but there is a bus (Route 114) from San Francisco that stops at Manzanita Park & Ride (.1 mi from Club Evexia); and Marin Transit, which connects most of southern Marin and Novato. Traveling from the East Bay to Marin requires a couple of transfers.
Is this an overnight retreat? Are accommodations included?
The Antidote: Menopause Edit is not an overnight retreat.
And, if you’re joining the retreat from out of town, or have decided to turn The Antidote into an overnight retreat for yourself, The Acqua Hotel is located one mile (driving) from Club Evexia. Click here for reservation information, including the 11% discount for our retreat.
What do I need to bring?
Yourself. You're perfect as you are. No prep required, although we'll be in touch before The Antidote to encourage you to take time and space to center yourself, as you're able. And you're welcome to bring anything that will help you to be present and feel whole.
Will there be food?
Yes! We'll provide breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages; and we'll request from our fabulous caterers that they provide vegetarian options (with mindfulness of gluten and lactose-intolerance). That said, we also invite you to bring any food or drink for yourself, if you have specific dietary requirements.
The retreat is at a fitness center. Can we get in on that?
As part of our agreement with Evexia, a 50-minute yoga or fitness classes will be available to us each day. More details soon. The Club is also located about a mile from the Tennessee Valley Trailhead, with access to trails, flat and hilly. These options are just that: *optional* and definitely not about what anyone *should do* (with judgment about participating or not. Let's. check. that. at. the. door. Shall we?)
Are there any Club policies I should know about?
Yes. Per Evexia, "Smoking is NOT allowed anywhere on the property. A $1,000 fine will be imposed for any infractions, including smoking on our outdoor deck. Please post 'No Smoking' signs for your event."
What about COVID?
Again, per Evexia, "We comply with mask and vaccination rules set forth by Marin County, so lessee must comply with the current version of these rules. As of the date of this contract, there is no mask mandate in effect in Marin County." That said, we will inform you if a mask mandate does get reinstated during our retreat.
For The Antidote, we request that each of us:
Has up-to-date vaccinations/boosters, and/or a negative Covid test within 48 – 72 hours of February 9, 2023;
Are asymptomatic prior to joining the retreat each day;
Discern risk if we have been in contact with anyone in the past 14 days before the retreat, who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and/or is symptomatic; and
Respect each other's decisions *to* mask and otherwise take care within the retreat space.
